This blog and the Snowferno site both run WordPress on separate but identically-equipped Lunarpages servers. When I went to apply today’s WordPress 2.8.4 upgrade, one install was giving me “WP HTTP Error: name lookup timed out” messages and no upgrade button, while the other worked just fine. There are some workarounds detailed on the WordPress support site, but I wasn’t happy having to disable cURL on one host and not the other. It had to be something else…

Our pal and Snowferno collaborator, Ben Britten Smith, asked me a while ago to port his website and blog over to a 100% WordPress-powered site. After we submitted the Snowferno build to Apple, I got working on it, and here’s how it turned out:

If we don’t find anything tragic in this build, we’re gonna submit the current beta (Release Candidate 2) of Snowferno to the App Store.

Two Short Films by Cameron Mair
My nephew spent last week with us in New York. Last summer he attended the New York Film Academy tweens program, so this summer we thought it would be fun to make some actual short films. Cameron directed each of the shorts, and I wrote the music. Our good friend Emily Otto even joined us in Washington Square Park very early one morning to star in “Only One Spoon”.
